Our new SKULL ring that was released
only about 10 days ago,
for our XX th anniversary of CRAZY PIG DESIGNS.
It has already caused a bit of a stir,
We have already sent some
of the very first ones ever made to the USA.
AUSTRALIA , JAPAN and  EUROPE
So I ve include a few more close ups
for all our great customers, to see why it's already another
CLASSIC CREATION from CRAZY PIG DESIGNS

As many of our classic designs
We have been plagued by various so called
Rock & Roll jewellers
trying to claim my desgns as theirs!

CUSTOM MADE SKULL RING

There's plenty to choose from in our COVENT GARDEN store
But one thing we really love to do , is
CUSTOM ONE OFF pieces
Like this beautiful woman ring
We made this for one of our celebrity clients
The MINI SKULL RING is made of ROSE GOLD
( a very subtle variaton of red or yellow gold)
we set the entire forehead with BLACK DIAMONDS

and to give it that extra
JE NE SAIS QUOI...
(French for JE NE SAIS QUOI.)
we set dark green EMERALDS in the eyes.

METALLICA 30th ANNIVERSARY EVENT

I was very happy to receive the
 SPECIAL METALLICA ISSUE of METAL HAMMER
Well it's been 30 years !
but they where all GREAT YEARS for sure!
We have a full page advert as shown here below

But Metallica fans might get slightly confused as
The Great  Frog have also placed an advert stating:
"We are proud to be a part of METALLICA's epic history
and would like to congratulate them on their 30th anniversary
This is great of them  and actually kind of true.
 however the only thing they forgot
is to mentionned is that is was me" ARMAND SERRA"
that designed. and made all of the rings worn by CLIFF BURTON
and JAMES HETHFIELD.
I was at THE GREAT FROG for 10 YEARS!!!!!!

and moved on to my own store

Here's again a little article where the old original owner PATERSON
talks about the Great Frog and the main designer " ARMAND SERRA.

The curent owner of The Great Frog  was about 6 years old when I made the
THE WOLF RING and WOLF  PENDANT,along withTHE PLAGUE RING
and EVIL SKULL RING for METALLICA.
So. there you have it,
THE TRUTH NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH!!!!

made in the early 80's by ARMAND SERRA

These above rings are made from the ORIGINAL MASTER
They  have all the detail as the first generation rings.
These  also bear the  BRITISH STERLING SLIVER hallmark,starting
with the first stamp  JAS ( ARMAND SERRA registered  jeweller stamp)
as well as the SIGNATURE ZIG ZAG that is on all my original pieces.

Beware of numerous counterfits and poor copies
These have nothing to do with Armand or CRAZY PIG DESIGNS.
Generaly speaking these copies are much lighter and have poor detail
and of course do not have either the JAS stamp or Armand' s signature
ZIG ZAG.

CLIFF BURTON update

Hi FOLKS
To coincide with the SPECIAL METALLICA issue of
CLASSIC ROCK due later on this week
I enclose a great photo of CLIFF BURTON wearing
two rings that I made for him in the early eighties while
I was working in Carnaby Street.

I met Cliff one day in London , he was wearing a
LYNYRD SKYNYRD T shirt and as I was also a
big fan of SKYNYRD ,  we spoke about their music and
how great they were.
I asked him,
What do you do?
He said
I play bass.
I said , " I PLAY GUITAR"
I asked him
What's the name of your band?
He said:  METALLICA
Hum!
Never heard that name before
( At the time no one had heard about them either )
He gave a couple of DEMO TAPES
and gave me his address in the STATES
( still living at his parents)
We became friends over the years.
Cliff bought many rings that I had designed
and made ( I still have all the original
drawings . masters and moulds)
Most notabily
the EVIL SKULL RING
WOLF RING
PLAGUE SKULL RING
SMALL AND LARGE REAPER rings
JAMES HETHFIELD followed suit
with more of my rings and a WOLF PENDANT

After many request from METALLICA fans I enclose a little selection from my
early encounters with CLIFF BURTON
At the time Metallica was a totally unknown band.
The pictures show Cliff handwritten address and signature as well as
his WOLF RING that he traded with me only a few days
before the tragic accident.
CLIFF's wolf ring has the stamp of british hallmark showing that
it was made at the end of 1983, One of the very first ever made
Also included are the handwritten address

He was one of my earliest customers at the time when

the name METALLICA did not mean anything to anyone

He purchased a few of my early pieces like the PLAGUE SKULL RING

on the left and the now CLASSIC EVIL SKULL RING on the right..
