ABSINTHE SPOON from CRAZY PIG DESIGNS

Here's s picture of a sterling silver ABSINTHE spoon
that we have made recently.So far only two have been
created
This is a SPECIAL ORDER only item.
Absinthe is a very famous ( or infamous ) alchoolic dring
that many artist , painters, poets, and musician drank
on a regular basis , to loosen up their creative talents ( so to speak)
The french governenment banned Absinthe
with the clain that it would make drinkers  mad

the slogan ABSINTHE PERD NOS FILS
(abinthe kills our sons) was modified later on

and the name PERNOD became the official legal drink

( but without the herb that would drive you mad)

The ABSINTHE RITUAL.

The spoon is balanced above a glass, and a sugar cube is

placed on it

The Absinthe sits at the bottom of the glass.

Ice cold water is slowly poored over the sugar cube, that slowly

crumbles and falls into the Absinthe.

The sugar cube can be soaked in Absinthe and lit up

before pooring the cold water.

ABISINTHE related items have now become

collectors pieces.

To celebrate this most amazing drink

Hand carved ICE MONKEY
using a TAGUA nut
The nut is a perfect subsitute
for Ivory,. it is just as hard
with a texture and colour
almost identical.

Nowadays a lot of people are using computer programs
to draw jewellery pieces and computerised  machines
 to carve three dimentional designs in wax to various
degrees ofsuccess,
Some jeweller's  catalogues not not show the actual
real piece itself but a computer generated image
of the jewellery you might be buying
A little bit like computer generated images in movies.
At CRAZY PIG DESIGNS we have the skill to
actually hand carve every single master and
what you see on our website is the actual piece

TAGUA NUTS, (sometimes called, vegetable ivory)

The HOODED SKULL id carved in the nut

leaving most of the actual nut intact.

The ICE MONKEY has been carved

in the centre of the nut. and will
be shown in the next blog

THE DESCENT 2

The DESCENT 2 ,

features the same feather pendant
seen in the first movie,

Crazy Pig Designs made a one off pendant

using a large silver feather, and a rough cut

turquoise stone hanging  on a leather cord.,

with  the  phrase
"LOVE EACH DAY"
engraved on the back
The feather pendant survived all the abuse from
all the battles, fights, gore and monsters from
both movies.

In 2005 we were approach by the makers of a new movie entitled
THE DESCENT, directed by NEIL MARSHALL andfeaturing
SHAUNA MAC DONALD,NATALIE MENDOZA
ALEX REID.SASHKA MULDER.
CRAZY PIG DESIGNS made the SILVER FEATHER pendant
with the words LOVE EACH DAY  engraved on the back.,
the pendant is crucial to the plot of the story
and it's real significance is only revealed at the end of the movie
THE DESCENT sequel ha been recently released to much aclaim.

.CLIFF BURTON WOLF RING and METALLICA early years

After many request from METALLICA fans I enclose a little selection from  my
early encounters with CLIFF BURTON
At the time Metallica was a totally unknown band.
The pictures show Cliff handwritten address and signature as well as
his WOLF RING that he traded with me only a few days
before the tragic accident.
CLIFF's wolf ring has the stamp of british hallmark showing that
it was made at the end of 1983, One of the very first ever made
Also included are the handwritten address

from James and autographs of Kirk and Lars.
