SKULL & CROSSED BONES ring

The great majority of my designs have a story
of how I came about designing and finalizing into jewellery.
This is the case for example of this quite simple
but classic SKULL and crossed bones ring.
I was  driving around the English country side with
a group of friends and  stopped at an small village
with a really ancient church on top of a hill.
It was surounded by an overgrown cemetery.
As I was trying to read one of the headstones
I realized I was standing over a bump.
I got a wooden stick and proceeded to clear
the soil over it and slowly revealed
a stone carving of a  skull and cross bones
at a three quarter angle.
It was simple but beautiful.
This was how this design came to life again after
being buried in the ground for many years..

So here it is an ancient stone carving turned into
another classic  CRAZY PIG DESIGNS skull ring.
I hope that the person that carved the stone in the first place
although long gone, is  happy that his design
lives on.

CREATIVITY and DESIGN

Over the last 30 years or so I ve accumulated a lot
of articles, press cuttings, magazines , photos
interviews etc, relating to all the things that I ve designed
in the past.
To tell you the truth , I never look at these,
they are just stored in crates in my personal workshop studio.
Sometimes ago I had to make space, so I dug out
old folders and files and see what was worth keeping.
I rediscovered many things that I completely forgotten about
So here's one of them
It is a scan of the front page of a magazine called
DIRECTION dedicated to
CREATVITY IN ADVERTISING and DESIGN
published in the late 80's
As you can see they chose six of my designs
to adornated the hand on the cover.

CRAZY PIG DESIGN August news

Nice to see team GB perform so well at the Olympics
We had  a few athletes popping in during the events.
bringing a new and unexpected clientele to CPD

The closing ceremony was truly grand  apart from....
"I tell you what I Really really really want, GET OFF MY TV!"
But at least THE WHO closed the night with some REAL LIVE MUSIC.
The ROLLING STONES should have been there! For sure!

Anyway , here's the CPD  August updates
The GUITAR BOOK is well on the way with about 230 pages already done
This is a big project and has taken a lot of my time but it should be well worth the wait.
Two major publishing companies have shown interest without even having seen a single page.

The New CD is also progressing well
13 Tracks of real HEAVY ROCK a la ZEPPELIN/VAN HALEN/SABBATH/QOTSA.
Drums and bass will be recorded in New York by two name session musicians who
are also happen to be good friends.

Also in the pipeline
After my whole life spent with GUITARS and designing I finally decided to design
my own  GUITAR.
This is still a well guarded project but the first two guitars will be ready before the end of
the year. This guitar will be COOOOOLLLLL!

And JEWELLERY! Well Yes of course , that goes without saying
That's what we do 6 days a week All year round.
More new ideas and new designs  ,  all  will be ready before CHRISTMAS.

still wearing my old classic ring ,
the LARGE EVIL SKULL RING
that I designed in the early eighties.

It appears to have survived very well
years of intense touring
A friend of mine in Japan calls his
EVIL SKULL RING
an OLD SOLDIER  Yes ! It surely is!
OLD SOLDIER NEVER DIES!

HARRY POTTER custom made jewellery

We made quite a few custom made items for the various HARRY POTTER
movies, mot noticeble is the three items worn by BELLATRIX
A BIRD SKULL pendant and a BIRD SKULL RING and the

really awesome TOUJOURS PUR SKULL RING .

It was a great honour to have been chosen by the HARRY POTTER
team to custom made all the different items they required.

As I had already designed and made many skull rings
I thought I might make one special just for me,
I had been wearing my Large Evil Skull ring for many years
and I thought " Time to do a new one"
I wanted it to be "MEAN LOOKING"
and cartoon style with exagerated features
like a big square jaw and small frowning eyes.
I did not bother about sketching anything on paper
I had a clear idea in my head so it came very quickly.
So , there it was my new SKULL RING,
I had to give it a name , like I previously did for
other earlier designs like
The plague ring, Large Evil Skull, Rot in peace
Lucifer, Catacombs,etc,,,
So I named it PSKYCHO KILLER
after the famous TALKING HEADS song,

As soon as I had this SKULL RING on my finger
it created a lot of interest from my friends and customers
but I was determined to keep this as a one off.
I remember one of the first to look at it was
BILLY IDOL, he loved the ring and he said
It was not fair that it was no available to the public,
He was right !
So it became another CLASSIC SKULL RING
Here it is with a CUSTOM FINISH
LEAN and MEAN!
